Essential Suncare Routine for Teens and Young Adults

Stay young, wild, and SPF-protected.

Why Should You Be Wearing
SPF Year-Round?

Sun Always Shines

The sun doesn't take a break, even on cloudy or cold days. Its rays, especially UV rays, are sneaky and can harm your skin, leading to premature aging and wrinkles.

Inside Counts Too

Sun can reach you through windows at home or in the car. Wear SPF all the time to keep your skin safe, even indoors.

Bounce-Back Sunlight

Surfaces like snow, water, and sidewalks can throw sunlight back at you. Use SPF every day to protect against this extra sunlight.

Little Bits Add Up

A little sun here and there can add up to big skin damage over time. Wearing SPF every day helps stop this slow damage from happening.

L-UV Makes Your Skin Look and Feel Like a Million Bucks

And keeps your skin safe

Hands down best sunscreen I’ve used!

I have finally found a product that doesn't cause me to break out in a rash.

I have very sensitive skin and I'm sensitive to the sun. It soaked into the skin well and didn’t feel sticky at all!

Great product! Provides long-lasting protection from the sun.

I’m fair-skinned and have been burnt before. This sunscreen goes on great.

Don’t have to rub too much to get it absorbed on the skin like some sunscreens.

FAQ

Classic Sunscreen vs. Mineral Sunscreen. What is the difference?

Non-mineral, often referred to as "synthetic," sunscreens use non-physical active ingredients like Homosalate, Octocrylene, Octisalate, and Avobenzone. These ingredients work by absorbing UV rays and converting them into heat, which is then released from the skin. Synthetic sunscreen absorbs approximately 95% or more of UV rays.

Mineral sunscreen uses physical active ingredients such as Zinc Oxide and/or Titanium Dioxide. These ingredients create a protective barrier on the skin that blocks UV rays by absorbing and reflecting them away from the skin. Mineral sunscreen absorbs approximately 90% or more of UV rays and reflects around 5% or more.

Both types aim to create a protective barrier on the skin's surface, but they achieve this through different mechanisms. Mineral sunscreen forms a visible barrier, while non-mineral sunscreen forms an invisible barrier that reflects and scatters UV rays away from the body.

Can you break down what Broad Spectrum means and tell me about UVA versus UVB protection?

Broad Spectrum refers to protection against both UVA and UVB sun rays. UVA rays penetrate deeply into the skin, contributing to issues like dark spots, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and wrinkles. They can even pass through window glass. On the other hand, UVB rays are primarily responsible for sunburn.

Why don’t you say  “Reef Friendly” or “Reef Safe” on your products?

We refrain from using the terms "Reef Safe" or "Reef Friendly" on our products because these terms are not standardized or regulated by the FDA. The lack of consistent definitions and regulations across different municipalities has led to consumer confusion. To provide clarity, we label our products as "Hawaii Act 104 Reef Compliant," indicating that they do not contain Oxybenzone or Octinoxate. We're proud to confirm that all our formulas adhere to this standard.

Are your products Vegan?

Yes, all of our products are vegan!

Are L-UV sunscreens Water Resistant?

Yes, L-UV sunscreens are water-resistant. In accordance with FDA regulations in the United States, our sprays and stick are labeled as "water-resistant" for up to 80 minutes, which is the highest level of water resistance claim permitted by the FDA. And our Face Gel is “water resistant” for up to 40 minutes.
