We didn’t start L-UV because the world needed another skincare brand. In fact, we started it knowing just how crowded and competitive the space already was—especially for sunscreen.

There are endless choices out there. Some are high-end. Some are trendy. And honestly? Some are just cheap. Too cheap.
Made far away, with ingredients that don’t hold up to real scrutiny, formulas rushed through production, or packaging that makes you want to hide it in a drawer until your next beach day.

That’s not what we wanted. Not for our family. Not for yours.

 

We Knew It Would Be Hard—But We Did It Anyway

We knew producing in the USA would cost more.
We knew using trustworthy, science-backed ingredients would require more research.
We knew that choosing reliable, local manufacturing—instead of outsourcing and shipping our products on long journeys we couldn't fully control—wouldn’t be the easy path.

But we weren’t trying to do what was easy. We were trying to do what was right.

 

Why Can’t Sunscreen Be Fun and Serious?

Today’s skincare isn’t hidden in drawers.
It’s carefully lined up on vanities, styled into bathroom shelves, and shown off in shelfies, GRWMs, and “top shelf” TikToks. Serums, creams, cleansers, toners—they’ve all had their glow-up.

So why is SPF still the afterthought?

Most sunscreens look too plain, or too beachy to sit alongside your daily lineup. They get tossed in gym bags, thrown in beach totes, or left behind altogether. That’s the problem we set out to fix.

We wanted to make sunscreen that belongs on your shelf, Something bold, vibrant, and joyfully designed, but with serious, science-backed ingredients and the real clinical care you can trust.

L-UV was born from our entire family’s belief in better sunscreen.
The younger generation in our family—who live and breathe skincare, aesthetics, and design—pushed for SPF that felt fresh, bold, and unapologetically fun.
The rest of us were focused on efficacy, safety, and long-term skin health—because SPF is the most important step in any routine.

So we met in the middle:
A brand that’s vibrant enough for your vanity, but serious enough for your skin.
